Group Benefits

Group schemes such as, group private health and group private medical schemes, can be used by companies for the benefit of employees. These help to instill employee loyalty and productivity, whilst minimising the loss of profits if employees cannot work due to the need for an operation or suffering an accident, sickness or disability.

Group schemes can work out to be very cheap for companies with greater numbers. These schemes can carry an amount of free cover for a number of employees, thus ensuring they can get cover, whereas if they were to apply individually, they may not.

One advantage for employees of group schemes is that they can normally be accepted for some or all of their cover without medical evidence. Group private health schemes enable the employer to cover the costs of National Insurance contributions and pension contributions for members on top of the maximum benefit that they can receive.
